PRESS RELEASE, FEBRUARY 15, 2024

The Lake of the Ozarks area celebrates more than 15 years of the Lake of the Ozarks Community Bridge. In 1990 the Missouri Transportation Corporation Act Became Law. The challenge at the time for the area was to build a bridge across the Lake of the Ozarks that would link the East Side (St. Louis Side) to the West Side (Kansas City Side).   The obvious problem was financing such an undertaking.

Lake of the Ozarks Community Bridge Corporation was formed in 1992, and development of the project went into high gear.  Construction began in 1996, and the bridge was dedicated May 1, 1998. During 2012, the Lake of the Ozarks Community Bridge Corporation was restructured and the Community Bridge ownership and operation was assumed by the Lake of the Ozarks Community Bridge Transportation Development District. Today the Lake of the Ozarks Community Bridge serves as a key traffic artery for both tourism and local traffic. It has helped to develop a tighter business and recreational environment by bridging East and West, making daily access to both sides of the lake possible.

We hope to provide clear information about the Lake of the Ozarks Community Bridge and the key benefits and services it provides.
